and rode the carousel.
Then we went to lunch at the Cheesecake Factory and we go the boys to bed for naps around 1:00 PM. A little late but after being so cranky they slept really well. Shawn and Kellie invited us for dinner that night so we had good food and great company for the evening.
Wednesday we got up and drove into DC. We had lunch,
then drove for a while to find a parking spot. We were upset that they had all these "lot full" signs up when we saw open parking spots but we were happy about it in the end because we found a free two hour spot along the road that wasn't too far away, had we parked in any of the previous parking spots we would have had to pay about $20 ...free is always good.
We walked all through the park. Here are some pictures of what we saw.
If you look closely you might see all the animals that we saw.....
Yes there weren't many animals, but that Lemonade we had was good.
It was a good day, though very hot and we came home pretty tired.
We spent Thursday recovering from our zoo trip.
We had breakfast at IHOP
Then we had dinner at the ASAHI Japanese restaurant.
Landon loves the Shirley Temple drinks.
Friday we decided to go back to the mall and play on the airplanes again.
Chris and Tasha got us Dippin Dots Ice Cream
It was fun but there were several kids jumping off all the toys onto other children, so when a little girl started crying we left. That night Dan flew in and was home with us by 11:00 PM. We love Dan and were very excited that he was able to get away from work and come play with us.
Saturday Landon came down with a fever so Laura kept the boys home while Chris, Dan, Terri and Tasha went into DC to look around. Laura was secretly happy about this because she remembers her families experience walking up and down the DC mall and how big it is. Everyone came home tired.
Chris forgot the camera so thanks to Tasha for giving us her pictures!
When they got home we went to Longhorn Steakhouse and met Shawn, Kellie and family there. Good Food! Good Family! what more could we want?!!!
Sunday Laura went to church and Chris stayed with our two sick boys, at home. Laura taught Landon's primary class and had a good time talking about Noah, and obedience and playing Simon Says. After Church we had dinner at Shawn and Kellie's house again. We figure since we have all had this strange flu, that it's okay to hang out and be together...it's not like we're going to pass it around again, plus it's too late for Dan, Terri, and Tasha, they will get it if they get it. We hope they don't get sick, but there's nothing to be done about it.
Monday we woke up, dressed and around noon Chris took the family to the Airport. Sam cried really hard when they left. I'm not sure if that's because they were leaving or if he just wanted to get in the car with everyone. I prefer the first excuse. The boys loved playing with Grandma, Aunt Tasha and Grandpa Dan.
It was a good week. We played, ate and walked a lot. It's always good to spend time with family.
