Thanksgiving

These were just a few of our pies.
We had a great Thanksgiving this year! We were invited to share our meal with our friends, the Peacocks. Brit and Vince made all the main dishes: Turkey, stuffing, several veggie dishes, rolls....all the good stuff! Chris and I spent all morning making pies. I made the crusts and Chris made the fillings. We made two apple, two pumpkin, one pecan, one chocolate cream and one banana cream. Yes we probably made too many...but the Boyds love pies! When we made the apple pies I had a couple peeled while Chris was slicing them into small pieces, Sam wandered in eating one of my peeled apples. We didn't realize that he'd stolen it. Good thing we bought so many, we didn't end up needing it.

There was something definitely wrong with the ovens yesterday. Our pies all took an extra half hour too cook, and the Turkey took a whole hour extra...it was very strange and the kids got restless for the food...but it was worth the wait. Landon and Sam didn't eat much. Sam had half a roll and Landon ate his small portion of mashed potatoes and half a roll and was done, I had to spoon the potatoes into his mouth to get him to eat it...we were fairly disappointed that our boys didn't take advantage of the excellent feast. Sam spent most of the eating time messing up the Peacocks house and playing with their toys.
This was ALL Landon ate.

I ate so much! I couldn't have fit another bite...it was one of those nights you want an extra stomach to fit everything.

Thanks go out to Brit and Vince for great food and excellent conversation! We'll have to do it again.

We missed you guys at Thanksgiving! We haven't even played any games yet. We did have 6 pies and a cheesecake though--always yummy. Wes thought we were short on pies this year. I'm glad you had some friends to have dinner with.
