The two floor lamps we've had since our wedding, kicked the bucket. The first has had a short since our move across the country and died about two weeks ago. We wanted to wait until after our next move to buy a new one, but when the second one broke we had no more light in the living room so we had to get something. So Saturday we bought two new floor lamps. Chris put them together and set them up in the living room, then, while taking the old ones out to the back yard, the glass portion of one of them fell and shattered all over our floor. So we were forced to take our shag rug outside and beat the glass out of it.

I've been meaning to ask Chris to help me do this for a while now, since the rug has many Goldfish cracker crumbs scattered through it. The vacuum just can't get everything out of the thick shag - but I love to run my toes through it as I sit on the couch. Chris did a great job of hanging and beating while I vacuumed, and the boys helped by putting their toys away. The house felt clean, it was VERY nice.
Sunday I made cup cakes for our Home Teachers and the Missionaries. I told the boys that if they were good they could have some when the Home Teachers came. We were expecting a visit at 4:00. At 6:00 I found five of my cup cakes had been "tasted"

His face gave him away.

I was a little angry, but Chris took pictures so we could laugh at them later. The Home Teachers didn't come, but Elder Marchant and his companion showed up at 7:00 and so they didn't go to waste.

This is funny! I loved seeing those 5 little cup cakes with tiny little bites out of them. He had to make sure that one didn't taste better than the others! Too cute.
That is so cute! I love how there is just a tiny bite out of each one instead of just having a whole one! Just think, now with the pictures you will have a funny memory forever, but if he hadn't eaten it in a while the cupcakes probably would have been forgotten. Hope you like your new lamps!
