Sam Turns 2 Today

Sam was due on April 28 2007. Since Landon was born c-section I was really nervous. I had had a very normal pregnancy and I even wore my wedding ring for the whole pregnancy, which amazed me because by the fifth month of my first pregnancy I couldn't wear my great grandfather's ring which normally is too big for my thumb. The doctor was still worried that I wouldn't go into labor by myself and so we planned a c-section for the 17th. I was disappointed because I knew my mother in-law and sister in-law were coming to visit and would just miss seeing the baby by a week, but it was the best time for the doctor and the baby.  My family urged me to avoid the c-section, but Chris and I had prayed about it and he gave me a blessing and we both felt good about our course of action so when my water broke late on the 10th I was a little confused, but relieved at the same time. We left Landon in bed, at home with his grandmother and aunt and left for the hospital around midnight, and Sam was born at 8:00 the next morning. Chris stayed awake with me the whole time and didn't complain when I would squeeze his hand so hard, I'm sure I hurt him. Once I had my epidural I drifted in and out of sleep, Chris tells me at one point he called a friend to bring him some food though I don't remember that. We only stayed in the hospital for one night, Sam did really well, though we had to bring home some billy lights to help him overcome the jaundice issues.
Sam loves to be loved.  He's is our little cuddle bug. In his baby blessing he was blessed to bring love into our family - and he does everyday.

Happy Birthday Little Boy!

We decided, since Easter was so close to Sam's birthday, we didn't want to confuse him with so much at one time. So we celebrated his birthday on Thursday, instead of Saturday.

We got him an ice cream cake from Cold Stone.

And for his present we bought a dump truck he can ride.

He ate all of his Cake and ice cream all by himself.

Landon was excited about the toys too!  They are having a hard time sharing.

Yesterday we got some very nice things in the mail.  A package from Grandma and Grandpa Boyd.  Sam loves his new shape cookie ja.r (Landon does too)  The sounds and music it makes are driving his mom crazy!

Thanks for the card Grandma and Grandpa Pace.  Sam Loves Frogs!!!  Your M&M's didn't make it though, so I gave him some of ours and said they were from you!  Hope you don't mind!

Happy Birthday Sam!

We're missing these boys growing up. It was so fun sharing them with you last year.

Glad it was a fun day.

P.S. That cake looks delicious.
