Though I haven't been saying much lately, we have been doing quite a bit.

1. We finished moving and cleaning our old home, and we gave our keys back to our old Landlord last Saturday.
This is our new home. We're not sure what to do with all the space, since it's so much bigger than our last home. We're loving it!!!!

2. We got some bad news about Chris' dream job...the one I was almost positive we had in the bag. So now our dreams have gone to plan B. While we wait for those results to come in, we sit here and attempt to figure out what the Lord wants us to do in the meantime.

3. Last week we needed to get out of the house so we planned a day trip away from the city to visit the Shenandoah National Park. It's roughly a two hour drive away, so we left around 1:00 with the hope, that the boys would take their naps in the car, and not get sick. They both slept, not as long as we hoped they would, but Landon did not throw up in the car.

We decided to pull over at the first overlook we found...

Which is where Landon decided to empty his stomach.
Landon was so good he didn't get any of it on himself!
{You probably didn't want to see the contents of his stomach, but car sickness is something I've dealt with all my life, so I thought I'd give you a small taste of what Chris and I deal with every time we get in the car. Though usually I just give Landon a bowl, we were lucky that we just happened to get out of the car when we did.}

We got back in the car and drove for another hour and found a nice, quiet, deserted picnic spot. Chris grilled up some hot dogs and hamburgers, while the boys snacked on chips and I set the table and cut up some vegetables.

Dinner was great! The only down side were the bugs. We used a TON of bug spray to keep the mosquitoes and gnats away and still came home with several bites. On the drive home we stopped at a small drive-in and got massive amounts of ice cream.

Which brings me to my final and most exciting news.

4. After eating the afore mentioned ice cream, Chris and I talked about how much we need a win right now. We decided that we do have some control over our lives and that we are eating way too much. So, since last Friday we've been counting calories and eating healthier. Chris has lost almost 6 pounds and I'm up to four. Chris has come up with some really great foods to eat, and though I have been hungry when I go to bed at night, it's just because I'm used to stuffing myself silly everyday. My stomach will get used to eating normal amounts of food soon...I hope.

Good job on the weight loss!

Thanks for the picture of Landon--ha ha! It made me appreciate that my kids DON'T get carsick!

Sorry to hear about the bad news with Chris' perspective job. Glad you had a good trip though. Your son can tolerate driving in the car just about as much as I can. I get car sick pretty easily. Kenzie got those genes from me. When she was a baby, she would throw up EVERY Sunday on our way to church.

Your house is huge! I love all the windows. It must feel great to have lots of space.
