There is always something to gripe about

When I was pregnant with Sam I had my head in the toilet at least once a day. So it came as no surprise that, during my morning sick time, I lost ten pounds. Of course I gained it back, plus another fifteen when I stopped being sick, but the fact that I lost the weight didn't confuse me at the time. However, this time around I've only puked once. Yes, just that once I mentioned before. (It's not because the zofran is working, because it's NOT!) It's also not for lack of trying. There have been many days where I knew I was on the verge of losing it but I just couldn't cross that finish line. I cough, gag and run for the bathroom, but halfway there I stop. I still feel absolutely miserable, but the ability to relieve myself by up-chucking has passed and I am forced to continue feeling this.....feeling.

I'm also constantly eating. Crackers, ramen noodles, toast, apples, carrots with dip, pickles, candy, ding dongs, cup cakes, and an exorbitant amount of sprite and various juices. I eat anything that is either very fruity or extremely bland and will hopefully sit in my stomach for longer than ten minutes.

With all that in mind, can someone explain WHY I have now lost over five pounds this month. It really shouldn't be possible.

The unfair part is that I look like I've gained at least 25 pounds, and I think my ankles are swelling.

In other news: Don't judge me if someday you are talking to my Landon and he mentions that TAPE rhymes with RAPE. I'm not sure where he learned the word RAPE, but I'm pretty sure he has no idea what it means. He has mentioned this to several people though and it's starting to worry me that people might think I teach my boys bad things on purpose. Just know, when he says it to me, all I can say back is "Yes, Landon, tape does rhyme with rape." Then I usually sigh or hang my head. What would you say?

Dear Landon,
You are my favorite, keep rhyming!

Gunnar's favorite rhyme, which he shared at school was, "slam it, jam it, dammit." Lovely! It's nice that Landon's favorite rhyme is something nice and awkward too. Good luck with your pregnancy drama. It feels like it's going to last forever, but at least you know if will not be longer than 9 months!

Laura! Congrats on your pregnancy. I'm so so sorry that you're so sick. I can't imagine feeling nautious all day. everyday. Its sounds like you're managing though. The exciting news though....I think we're both due around the same time! I'm 10 weeks along too....due around June 12. We'll both be having our 3rd child this spring. That's exciting. I hope you start feeling better in the next couple weeks. Hang in there!

Congratulations on the new joy coming-- just focus on that word joy when you are feeling so bad- sorry for that! I am way excited for you though! Also- during rhyming time each year we always got some iffy ones, but like you said you really can't do much- you don't want to make a big deal of it or they will say it more and you don't want to have to explain it either. Fun memories later though.
