It's been a while......

I've been meaning to write about all the goings on around here but they just keep piling up and it feels a little daunting. However, tonight I'm alone, so I have some lonely time on my hands.
When I say I'm alone I mean it's just me and Seth in our little apartment tonight. Chris left with his boss and another extern to attend a national law meeting in Sun Valley. We're hoping by sending him on these excursions he can impress someone who will give us a job later. Landon and Sam are sleeping over at Grandma and Grandpa Boyd's house with their cousins tonight. I always get a little nervous about these sleep over things with Landon. I never know how he's going to react.

Last month Chris took an over night trip with his boss and gave a presentation to the narcotics division in Boise. He was complimented by several of the lawyers there, so he must have done something right.

Several Fridays ago Chris' boss used his connections with the state parks department to take us to the Sand Dunes above Rexburg. If you've seen Napoleon Dynamite you'll know what I'm talking about. The ranger was nice enough to lend us his four ATVs and also take us out on the sand in his dune buggy. He drove like a crazy person all over the sand, it was like riding a roller coaster. I felt like I was going to fall out of my seat several times and I had to keep my mouth firmly shut so I wouldn't eat sand. He took the men on much wilder rides than mine though. He ranked my ride a 3 out of ten. I think Chris got a 7. Just before we left Chris and Matt(the other extern and local basketball superstar) went for a "manly" drive on the four wheelers. Chris went really fast and accidentally flew over one of the sand dunes, thinking he knew what was on the other side. He ended up about 8 feet in the air and fearing for his life. We are all happy he made it back in one piece.

Matt, his wife Chelsea and their son. I was so glad Chelsea was there to ride the dune buggy with me and encourage the ranger to keep the ride at a 3.

Matt's little boy really wanted to ride the buggy so Jeff (the ranger) agreed to take the boys for a calm ride. Landon was so excited to go, Sam just wanted to "fish" with his stick in the water.

Matt, Jeff, Mike(the Boss) and Chris

Landon spent most of the day sitting on one of these hoping someone would take him for a ride. Chris took him on several, but needed to eat lunch and take some breaks from driving the kids around.

We spent a Sunday in Logan to visit with Angela and Chad and see them bless their little girl in church. The food was excellent and it was nice to see all the great things they've done to renovate their home.

On our nations birthday my parents drove up and brought with them a new window for our car. (thank you!!!) It's got a dark tint to it, so it doesn't match the other windows but it's perfect because it protects our little Seth from the sun. I love it! They took us to lunch and spent a couple hours with us then left, and we drove down to Robin to eat steak and fries and light fireworks with the grandma and grandpa and Shawn and Kellie and all the kids. I think Chris and Kraig had a good time lighting the rockets(which are usually illegal, but not this year!)

The next Wednesday Chris went on a ride along with the local police and came home wondering why he didn't just become a cop instead of getting a masters and now law degree.....

Tuesday is half price at the movie theaters so we took the boys to see Cars 2. I was amazed at how well behaved they were, especially Seth. We might just look into going to the free movies at the university next semester.

This last weekend was the Boyd family campout. Chris left work early, we packed up the car and drove down to Salt Lake, where we had dinner with my parents. Chris then took Landon and Sam and drove down to Beaver UT and set up camp at Midnight. I stayed in Salt Lake with Seth because I wasn't about to take my 2 month old baby camping, especially since he doesn't sleep well and I didn't want him cold and crying and keeping everyone awake at night. The boys had a good time down in Arizona with the family(I'll post pictures later once I've actually seen them) while I had a relaxing(if sleepless) time in Salt Lake. My brother and his wife hosted a Harry Potter party with cockroach clusters, acid pops, butter beer and other assorted paraphernalia that they made themselves. A good time was had by all! I also attended a baby shower, but mostly I sat on the couch with Seth, eating the best Popsicles in the world (PACE POPS are soooo good. You have to try them, but good luck finding them!) and watching HGTV and the Food network. Saturday night Chris packed up the car and drove all night. He slept for one hour around 6 or 7 in the morning and then drove again until Landon puked, and he was forced to stop for breakfast and administer some more Dramamine. He arrived in Salt Lake around 1:00 PM and took a bath in my parents jacuzi tub where he fell asleep for about 30 minutes before I woke him up. After dinner with my family he took another nap and we left Salt Lake around 6 PM to arrive at our apartment and crash into bed.

Which leads us to today. Whew, glad that's over! Now, since I've bored you to sleep, a few pictures of Seth who is now fitting into 3 month clothing and sleeping even less than ever.
