Grandparents

I just LOVE these two people!

These are my Grandparents.  I went to visit them today and it was wonderful to just sit and laugh with them.  They've been great examples to me throughout my life.  My grandfather was lucky enough to serve a mission before he enlisted in the Navy for World War II.  During the war he was able to set up sacrament meetings for the soldiers in his area of the Philippines.  When he came home from the war he married my grandmother and they raised six children.  They have served five missions together and worked in the Ogden Temple for many many years.  They have 36 grandchildren and if I'm counting correctly, they have 40 great grandchildren with more still to come.  They weren't around for many years when I was little, but their example of faith and service is the best present they could give to their posterity.  Grandpa's favorite past time is watering and mowing the lawn and Grandma has  a thing for couches.  She has at least ten comfy chairs around the house and she rearranges the furniture at least once a month.  They do their best to keep active and I think that is why they are both so happy and lively in their old age.  I want to be just like them when I get to be their age.

Laura, it's so funny that our lives really only touched each other for such a short time, but how much I feel like we are mirroring a lot of your experiences. Aaron being on the autistic spectrum too has a hard time with being wet. He loves bath time, but if he gets one drop of water on clothing or hands wet and dirty while eating it's the end of the world. It made me smile that Landon did so well though during his baptism. And then I saw the picture of Sam with all of the awesome weaponry stuffed into the front of his pants, and it reminded me of exactly what Jordan does all the time. Little brothers sent to help their older brothers. And then the business of a toddler. Yikes! We know all about toddler business.

I'm so happy for Landon being baptized. I'm glad that you got to be with family for Thanksgiving and the baptism. Landon will have the very best gift to help him through life. You and Chris are such good parents!
