Today is my ten year High School reunion, so I'm feeling a little nostalgic. Since I'm still in Virginia you can probably guess that I'm not going to be attending, but just knowing that many of my friends are getting together tonight makes me think. When I try to go back and see old friends things are never as good as they were and I usually leave feeling disappointed, so maybe it's good that I'm not going. I don't want to be disappointed, and ruin all the good memories. I don't have pictures but I'm in the mood to re-live some memories. So here goes.
I remember when......
Amanda's family took a few of us to Lake Powell to spend a few days on their house boat. We played with hair, jumped off cliffs, and rode on wave runners for three days. It was a blast.
We we painted, beaded and braided our hair red for Spirit Week our Senior year. I even braided and beaded the boys hair.
As juniors we won the spirit bowl but the judges said we lost...and as seniors we lost the spirit bowl but the judges said we won. Hmmmmm..................could it be rigged?
Dances, Dating and all the break-ups....makes me glad I'm married and not playing that game anymore. Drama, Drama, Drama.
Mr. Powell's computer class freshman year, Mr. Hall's history class Sophomore year and being a TA for him my Senior year (Mr. Hall was my all time favorite teacher, I know he really cared about me), Mr. Campbell's English class Sophomore year (Dude what happened to that guy?), Dr. Grossen leaving early every black day, but telling us we had to stay until the bell rang (idiot), and of course all my seminary classes. (Those were my favorites).
Seminary Council - meetings every week, Temple mornings, making bulletin boards, setting up for activities, making movies, donuts, four wheeling with Voni, and our favorite movie...."P-Day ends at 6 PM, but that's when P-night begins."
A'Capella - California and Disneyland was soooo fun, didn't we win that competition? Who could forget New York? The two towers (they were still standing), the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, the Met, getting kicked off that fountain, and buying from all those illegal vendors. Glasses, Glasses anyone? Philadelphia wasn't too bad either. We rode carriages, ran the rocky steps and sang at Lord and Taylor with one of the biggest organs in the world.
But mostly I remember Mr. Torgerson - one of the best choir teachers in the world -yelling, slamming just the right spot on the piano, expecting the best from us. He threw water and snow at us and did everything he could to bring out the best sound. Good times.
In the end I liked my high school experience, I probably wouldn't change too much of it, just a few things.....but I'm glad it's all over. I'm happy where I am, with my husband and two boys.....Life is good, so there's some relief that I'm not going to be in Salt Lake tonight.

On the header being centered, I had to mess around with my size. Mine is 10" x 4" and it fits almost perfect. I couldn't get it to center, so I just made it a little smaller. I hope that will work for you!
Spencer had his 10 year reunion this summer too! You old foggies! I hope things are going well for you... cute blog make over!
At least your class is having a reunion. Ours was supposed to be last year but turned out to be a total organizational disaster and never happened. Oh well, that's what blogs and facebook are for, right? :)
Here are some more high school memories for ya:
"Sooooooooooy saaaauuuce!"
"Flames! Flames! On the side of my face!"
"So anyway..." :)
