Consider Yourself Carded

I've never done Christmas cards. I wanted to this year, but we really don't have the funds to send them to so many people, so I thought this would be a good, cheep way to get a card out to many of our friends. So please consider this your Christmas card from us!

This past year has been a good one. As most of you know, in August of 2007 our little family moved to Bologna Italy. Chris did well in his classes and we made many friends that we hope will last forever. We saw many sights and experienced some good and exotic foods. In June we said a tearful goodbye to our friends in Italy and came back to the states. We've spent the last six months in Virginia. Spending many hours with Shawn and Kellie before they moved away, and enjoying some of the good and simple things of life; like ice cubes, a clothes dryer and steak. None of which we had in Italy. Life is simpler in many ways, but also more complicated. We find ourselves with car troubles and many medical bills. Itsn't that always the way it is. When one set of stresses is over we begin new ones.

Sam is 20 months now. He enjoys going to Nursery, stealing his big brother's toys and wrestling everything in sight. Some of the words he likes to use are: mom, dada, walk, wadoo(water), Guck(truck-though this refers to any automobile), ball foo(food), cheese, wait, what, bye and men(for Amen at the end of a prayer). He learns new words everyday. Sam loves books. He would make us read everything on the shelf everyday if we were up for it.

Landon is now four years old. He loves video games, cars, trains, and anything that involves the alphabet. His favorite place to go is the Wegman's grocery store. We leave him in a child care room at the front of the store where he can play on the computers by himself. He is a good big brother to Sam, always trying to involve Sam in his games. Like the other night - "Sam, you pick up the blocks and I throw them!"

Chris will finally be done with his Masters degree this May. It's been a very long road. We were thinking of going on to do a PHD, which we still might do, but right now Chris is just looking for a job to help us pay off our student loans. Chris has recently been diagnosed with Graves disease and so we are working to keep that in control. Fun stuff, I know!

Laura is doing the same as usual: Laundry, dishes, and kids. She tries to keep the house clean, but most days she loses the battle. This past year she's enjoyed old hobbies like sewing and reading, and has discovered new hobbies like blogging and photography.

We are grateful for friends here in Virginia, but we miss all of our family and friends who are far away this holiday season. We hope all is well with you and that you have a wonderful New Year!

All the best from the Boyds in Virginia!
Happy Holidays

Yeah, we didn't send out cards this year either. Aaron has a hat like Sam's and likes to wear around the house too. Go figure. I thought only girls do stuff like that, but I was wrong

We only sent out like 10 cards this year. It just gets too expensive to send out 50 of them! You have such a cute family. Hope you guys have a great Christmas! Maybe we'll see you and Jennie's wedding.
