This past week......

Chris and the boys made cookies.
Chris also volunteered at the Bishop Storehouse.

Landon's entire school had a field trip day. So I drove Landon and Sam to Cox Farms. Where we had fun on the big slides,Jumped on things we weren't supposed to climb on,

Found more slides,

And fed the goats
Landon enjoyed swinging on the ropes, though he didn't get very far.

Around noon, everyone from the school got a long ride in wagons pulled by a tractor. I think the boys really liked it. Then we played in the fenced off little kid area, until I couldn't take Sam's tired crying anymore.

When we left each person was allowed to pick a pumpkin out of one of the bins near the exit. Landon chose a nice one from the first bin. He browsed through all of the others but in the end decided his first choice was the best one.

Sam, on the other hand, wandered around picking one out of every bin, and I followed putting them all back. He finally chose a very small pumpkin and I thought that would be the end, but then he saw a small bin of abnormal squash, and decided his small pumpkin was not good enough.
So I ended up with his pumpkin and he brought home a very ugly squash that he uses as a microphone.

Other than that, we've been going to school, taking naps, looking for jobs, looking at PHD programs, and trying to keep the house semi-clean.

In Other News: We are still waiting on that job. We've been told to "Hang tight and wait just a little bit longer." They said their time frame was forced to change...so we're still waiting. In the meantime Chris has the possibility of a temp job with a wireless network in the mall. The most exciting bit of our news came this morning when Chris got an email from the head of the PolySci department at UNL, saying that Chris would be a perfect fit in their program, and this professor would also like to mentor Chris.

It's nice to have possibilities opening up for us.
