It's snowing outside. I'm pretty sure they will cancel church on Sunday, because that's just the way things go around here. Everything is cancelled! Schools announced yesterday, before the snow even started, that they would be cancelled. (Technically kids could have gone to school for the whole day today and everything would have been fine for drivers, because the snow didn't start sticking to the ground until around 3:30.) Even the Federal Government is closed for the weather.
Chris was supposed to take a test tomorrow. A VERY IMPORTANT TEST!!! Without this test we might just miss school registration deadlines, that would throw off our plan E (Obviously we've discarded plans A-D already so it would be nice for at least one of our plans to come to fruition) and we would then have to really push for plan F(Chris is fairly pessimistic about Plan F though he did pass the first phase of testing for plan F and is moving onto the second phase of testing.) We knew the cancellation was coming, considering all the other testing centers in the area decided to cancel the test two days ago. Granted, two feet of snow is a lot of snow to drive in, but if we were in Utah or Idaho these cancellations would not be occurring.
In the vain hope that the DC testing center didn't decided to close it's doors we went out to find some chains for our tires. We should have known not to bother looking in stores, and just gone straight for the internet. Who knew that auto parts stores, and even tire stores don't carry chains. The guy at the auto parts place tried to tell us that chains are illegal in Virginia and Maryland - yeah right stupid!(Don't worry, Chris checked on that detail before beginning the search) In the tire store the guy looked at me like he had no idea what chains were, and why would I bother with them anyway. After all Virginia doesn't get much snow, and there are never ice storms around here.....wait there are a lot of ice storms, and this is the second time this year, that things have had to close because of snow.....Stupid People!!! So we ordered them online and today they came. Tomorrow, bright and early, Chris and Shawn(he's been visiting us this week) are going to the weekly Elder's Quorum Soccer Game, and they are taking the boys with them.
Saturday is my favorite day of the week, because I'm assured a good morning of sleep. Afterward we might go find a good hill and go sledding. (We had to order a sled on line because no one around here carries those things either) If anyone cares to join us you would be more than welcome to come and join the party.
I'm sure I'll bring home some pictures to share with everyone.
