and a little ranting on the side!
Have I ever told you how much I hate school? Well......I DO! It's a miracle I even got a degree, I hate it so much. I think it's mostly because I'm lazy. I don't want people telling me what to read, when to read it and then to write a paper on it. It's just not my style. Don't get me started on my issues with math and science! Numbers don't ever come out of my brain right.
With that said....Chris is really liking being back in school. He has a purpose in life and even some achievable goals, so he's feeling much better about himself and the world in general. I think he's also enjoying the learning material too. He gets up at 5:00 AM (way too early for me!) and is at school by 6, studies all day with a few classes throw in. He gets home around 6:00 PM, just in time to spend a couple of hours with Landon and Sam and then put them to bed. While doing all this he's made some friends. This weekend he has plans to go elk hunting. We don't have a rifle for him, but his new friends have several for him to borrow. I think he's excited.
Landon starts kindergarten next week. I hope it goes well for him. He's very impatient to get started. I guess I'll have to find his backpack this week and get him stocked up on supplies. Anyone know what supplies I'm going to need? Maybe they'll tell me on the 31st when I go with him on the bus ride-along. I think I've found someone to take Sam for me.....lets hope so at least. In the meantime, Landon has a birthday party to go to today. It's a boy in his primary class who is turning 6. I've never met his parents and I'm a little worried that Landon might have a freak out moment because it's a swimming party and he doesn't know how to swim. It's the first party that I won't be staying with him, so I'm nervous about that too. But he's excited. So he's going.
Sam really wants to do everything Landon is doing. He wants to go to school, but it's not in the budget this year. he wants to go to this birthday party, but he's not invited. (I may have to take him out and do something fun while Landon is gone.) Really, he just wants to be grown up like Landon, but I'm not ready to let him. Why can't they just stay little?

Kaden is just dying to go to school. EVERY DAY he tells me that tomorrow he is going to school. He still has another year until kindergarten.
Wow! I can't believe Landon is in kindergarten already! What a big boy! Chris when you're hunting this weekend ... remember to point and then shoot :)
School, school and more school. Good luck to all of them. Brendan and Jeremy have been going for two weeks now. We are ALL up at 5:00 since Jeremy has to catch the bus at 6:15 then Brendan at 7:15 with two different drop off times. We've had to adjust the schedule to get them in bed earlier and it's so hard. I'm definitely not a morning person so all the sudden I don't like school that much either.
Have fun Landon at school and Laura and Sam for that time alone at home although it means being more creative so he doesn't get bored. That's how I feel with Andie.
This is Chris- thanks to Laura for this post! And Angela, you're hilarious. "Really", he said dryly. ;)
Kellie, I'm soooo sorry! That is quite an adjustment!
Chris ....just catch the elk and kill it with your bare hands. Man up and be a Boyd. We have a little over a week until school starts. We got the letter today telling us which teachers they are getting. I guess it's time to start packing lunches, (one of my dreaded school chores.) Hunter will be going to preschool 5 days a week for 4 hours, I'm not sure if he's going to like it.....but I think I will. :) I'll be home with just Jensen for 4 hours, kind of spooky.
