Strider

Last Christmas Grandma spoiled Sam with a Strider bike. He's been riding it a ton since we came back to Moscow, and he loves it so much he even decorated it with stickers. At first we brought it inside every night, but a week and a half ago I forgot about it and it was left outside by the front door, next to the other three bikes we own. When Sam went out to play the next morning we couldn't find it. I asked the neighbors and the woman who lives two doors up from us said she saw a boy ride off on it the night before. I walked all over the neighborhood and asked everyone I know to keep their eyes open for it. Chris and I have been watching Craig's list for it as well. On the other hand Sam has been begging me for a bike with pedals so I've been looking online and at yard sales for one. I've also been watching the prices at walmart and last week bike prices dropped. I finally gave the bike up for lost so we picked up a "pedal" bike at walmart. He hasn't been having as much fun with the pedal bike because he's still learning how to work the brakes. I've been feeling sad and a little guilty about losing his strider bike so I've been very careful to remember to lock up all our bikes or bring them inside at night.

This morning I went out to unlock Sam's bike so he could play with it and found a surprise waiting for me. Apparently someone felt guilty or someone's parent found it and the strider was returned to our doorstep. I'm very happy about it but curious as to the details of the return. Sam's just happy to be riding it again.

We have so many bikes around our neighborhood that I wouldn't know who to return any to unless someone asked. Glad you got it back!!!
