Five Years

Last Wednesday was Sam's birthday. He's five now and it's hard for me to believe he will be going to Kindergarten in the Fall. Where did my chubby cheeked baby go? Sam said it best when he said "MOM! I've never been five before! :)

We don't really see Chris on Wednesdays so we didn't really celebrate on his actual birthday but I did ask him what he wanted for dinner. He insisted that all he wanted was Strawberries.

After dinner Sam was feeling hot so he stripped off his shirt, laid down on the couch and passed out.

I think he had a good day, but he was more excited for his party on Saturday. Chris made him a large ice cream cake with green cool whip for frosting and I put the Ewok legos together.

All the kids said that it was the "best cake ever" and Chris got many compliments on his choice of frosting.
The temperature was in the 50's with a cold wind, and the candles wouldn't lite but we sang Happy Birthday and he did a good job of pretending to blow the candles out. Admittedly it wasn't the most pleasant of times to be outside but I think the kids had a fun time playing at the park. Sam was especially excited for his presents. So when we got home he dressed up in his new SWAT gear.

Chris showed Landon how the maze ball from Grandma works, and he's been playing with it every chance he gets.

And Seth discovered the joys of playing with a balloon.

Seth knows to smile whenever I take out my camera.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAM-BO! WE LOVE YOU!
