Saturday Adventures

Last Saturday was interesting for us. We spent the morning at an Emergency Preparedness Fair that the student wards put on. The Life Flight helicopter landing in the parking lot is what drew us to the event. The boys really liked climbing into the vehicles and trying on all the hats. The EMT showed the boys all the equipment in the Ambulance.
The Most fun was playing in the Helicopter.
After exploring in all the emergency vehicles, including the Red Cross Truck, we went inside where the boys were able to stock up on some suckers and life savers candy, and they were also able to meet Smokey the Bear. This was as close as Landon would get to him, but Sam wanted a hug. When we got home Landon complained that his head hurt so I got him some water and a little Ibuprofen to help with the pain. Around 4:00 he complained again so I sent him to rest in his bed until dinner where he fell asleep for the next two hours. When he got up he ate some dinner then sat next to me on the couch and put his head on my shoulder. He was burning up. I gave him some more Ibuprofen and around 7:00 Chris put him in a warm bath. His temperature was at 104.4 so I called my dad for advice and after shivering in the bath for five minutes Chris decided to take him to the hospital just to be on the safe side. Around 9:00 he finally complained about his stomach and was able puke and after that his temperature started dropping. Chris and Landon came home just after midnight. Landon started feeling better yesterday, but we kept him home from school because he was a little lethargic int he morning and I didn't take him to soccer in the afternoon either. I'm just hoping he can finally play a soccer game tomorrow. It's been too wet for the past two weeks so soccer has been postponed until yesterday. I'm wondering if it was really worth the money we spent.... On another note. I don't like the new format of Blogger. I hate the size of these pictures, so I might be playing around with the template soon. I'm hoping this doesn't ruin any previous posts, but that's life I guess.
