Kraig and Norma came to visit us for a whole week. I wanted to make their visit as restful as possible but on their last day with us(friday June 29) the ski lifts opened. Chris took work off early and we rode the lifts up the mountain and hiked back down. It was a nice warm day in the sun, and the boys really enjoyed the walk. Landon insisted on being the leader and by the end of our walk Sam decided that he and I were hiking buddies. My camera batteries were dead, so I was lucky that Kraig took lots of pictures.
The next day was another sunny day and we didn't have any plans except to get groceries. After shopping for food we found ourselves walking around town, window shopping and eating ice cream. In the evening we walked over to the village to ride the ski lifts again. It was a free day so I was surprised to see no line at the bottom of the mountain. When we got to the top there was a huge line. Chris waited in line with the boys while seth played in the dirt and tasted the rocks. I loved the ride down. Then for dinner we shared some brick oven fired pizza. It looked and smelled like Italian pizza but ours was a little burnt. It brought back some good memories though. We were exhausted when we got home but I think it was the best weekend we've had in a long time.
Chris had the day off for the July 4th festivities. There was a lot going on in town. A parade a band, free ice cream at the beach and of course Fire Works over the lake. We ended up opting out of all of these activities. Instead we drove to Montana to the Kootenai River Falls. We had a fried chicken picnic and then walked down to the river and we even crossed a long swinging bridge.
Did I forget to mention we dyed my hair? We attempted to make it a nice color of blonde. It took us three times to make my hair an acceptable color. Meaning it's not quite the color I want it to be, yet, but it's no longer a fluorescent orange. My roots are starting to show, so maybe I can dye it again soon and not have it all fall out.

Yeah for new pictures! I love them! You look beautiful Laura. And I love the picture that overlooks the village and your home. Awesome. Miss you.
My goodness, those views are gorgeous! Looks like a fun time (I woulda opted out of the crowd infested 4th activities too :) What you guys did was much more awesome)
Dad took pictures?? Surely you jest! Did he learn how to work a camera then? Cuz the last time I asked him to take a pic it was with a disposable camera and he held it between 2 fingers as he asked "How do I work this thing?" !!
