Happy Easter

We had a fun Easter weekend.  It was sunny outside and the temperatures were in the upper 50's.  So being outside was definitely the place to be.  We had a picnic, with some friends, at a nearby park.  Chris grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and the kids had a lot of fun playing together.  We listened to music from the car radio and enjoyed some much needed adult time.  Our friends had to run home early so we packed the boys into the car to go home around 1:30 and found that the music had worn out our car battery.  We didn't get home till 2:30 and then we all crashed into bed for nap time.  In the evening we pulled out our four dozen eggs and had fun with some dye.  Landon and Sam liked mixing the colors and seeing what different colors they could make the eggs.

Seth had so much fun dipping the eggs into the dye.  He got a little over excited and tried to dye more than one in one glass.  It didn't work very well.

The night would not have been complete without a little nausea.  Sam complained of an upset stomach and ended up hurling twice and then passing out on the couch for the night.  Chris didn't feel well either but we're still not sure what caused the whole episode.

In the morning Sam was feeling better so Chris hid all of the eggs outside and then we turned the boys loose .

After finding all the eggs and then finding their baskets in the living room Sam complained that he was feeling sick again.  Chris and I suspected that he was faking it, but we didn't want him to throw-up in church so we sent him to bed to rest.  After 20 minutes of being in bed Chris sent Landon to give Sam a book to read, and we heard Sam whining talking to Landon.  We couldn't understand what he said so I wandered back to his room to see what was wrong.

In a loud wailing voice Sam burst out with    "It's all a lie!  I'm not sick!"  followed by huge tears.

So Chris and I took him into our bedroom and we explained that it was wrong for him to lie to us, but we were proud of him for admitting when he was wrong.  We gave him hugs and sent him to his room to get dressed.  Once he was gone we just had to laugh because he was so dramatic about the whole thing.  I think he was happy he went to church with us, because they sang to him in Primary for his birthday that is coming up, and he was able to go to class with the teachers he likes.

It was a good Holiday for our family.   My siblings are all together this weekend because it's their spring break, so I'm missing them right now.  It's been two years since we've all been together so it would have been nice to see them all.... maybe next year.
