November and December are always very busy months for us.

Chris turned 33 this year.  He was going to go to a shooting competition on the morning of his birthday, but decided he wasn't feeling up to it at the last minute, so I made him a cake and gave him his birthday present.  Sam drew him a picture and we ate dinner at Texas Roadhouse.  A nice and simple birthday.

Landon and I worked on a social studies project together.  We had to build a diorama and make a 5x7 note card answering some questions about  one of the peoples they were learning about in Social Studies.  We chose the Cherokee Nation, or perhaps I should say I talked Landon into choosing to do his project on the Cherokee.  It was (in my opinion) the most in depth chapter (three pages) of Landon's text book and thus it had the most information, making the Cherokee the easiest subject for the 5x7 card.  Landon also has a friend that is a Cherokee and lives in Okalahoma near the reservation.

I spent a lot of time looking around for an orthodontist that will fix Landon's teeth for a reasonable price.  I finally found one this past Monday and yesterday we had one of his baby teeth pulled so that the process can go more quickly.  When he gets his retainer I'll post pictures.

We traveled to Utah for the Thanksgiving Holliday.  We ate several Thanksgiving dinners.  On Thursday we ate at my brother's house.  Dan and Laurelin made a wonderful dinner and I was able to visit and catch up with many people I haven't seen since our last get-together, which was last year at Landon's baptism.
Friday we drove out to my grandparents home to visit for a few hours with them and introduce them to Violet.  Grandpa has had some problems with infections in his arm recently and Grandma is way too thin and getting a little forgetful, but it's always fun to be with them.  I love them so much!

This is the ONE picture I took the whole trip.
On Saturday we left my parents house and went to Lehi to spend the day with the Boyds and enjoy another Thanksgiving dinner.  We were going to leave that night and drive home so Chris could teach his gospel doctrine class Sunday morning, but his brothers talked him into staying the night.  Don't worry, he called around and a substitute was found.  It was so last minute, though, that his brother bought a Toblerone bar for the unlucky soul.

Yesterday I pulled out the Christmas decorations and started making Seth's stocking.  I think we're picking out our tree this weekend and I'm excited for the pine smell that comes with it.

Violet hasn't been sleeping well this past week.  She's digressed to getting up every 2 hours to be fed. Then takes a long nap during the afternoon.  I think it might be that she's uncomfortable in her chair, so I'm going to put up the crib this weekend, in hopes of getting her to sleep better.  I guess we'll see what happens.

Seth came down with the croup this morning.  Every time he coughs, even if it's a small one, he runs to me crying about it.  I've given him a couple breathing treatments with our nebulizer and I put the humidifier over his bed in hopes of helping him sleep better.

Next project - The Relief Society Christmas Dinner.  I suppose this calling is good for me, but I think I stress over it way too much.  I just don't want to let anyone down.  Wish me luck!

I love the picture of Grandma and Violet! If you only took one picture, that was the one to take! And yes, she is so so thin. I thought that same thing when we lived in Utah for 6 months at the beginning of this year. I think she goes through a lot when Grandpa isn't doing well. Poor thing. And I love your Big photo at the top of your blog of all of your kids. It is so funny and so real life. Violet is precious!
