Seth is our little helper. He insisted on helping Chris with the removal of the tile and today he really wanted to help with the painting. So Chris let him tape the paper down and put some white paint on a newly sanded cupboard. He was very sad when we wouldn't let him use the big roller on the walls though.
I know it's hard to see past the garbage on the counter but it was 8:00, Violet was crying, and we were all ready to get home and into bed, so try to look past the messiness and enjoy the green.
We have decided that next Saturday is our big moving day. I think we will be storing our dishes outside of the kitchen until the painting is complete, but we have a working fridge and stove and it won't be long before the rest of the cupboards are sanded and painted and we can finally be done. It's going to be great!!!
In Other News: This year, instead of doing a pine wood derby for cub scouts, Landon's pack raced box cars. It was an exciting week for us. I was so excited to be able to go to the Temple that Thursday and I was also excited to watch Landon with his box car at pack meeting on Thursday. It wasn't until Wednesday night at 10:00 PM that I realized I couldn't be in both places at the same time. I knew we really needed to go to the Temple so Thursday morning I talked to Landon about it. He said it was okay that I wasn't going to be there for him, so I called the neighbors to take him with their son and we had a babysitter for the other kids. The Temple was wonderful, as usual. and I made a killer box car for Landon to race. I think he liked it and I found a use for the Valentines box we made him.
Landon's teeth are slowly being fixed with his retainer. The orthodontists added more plastic to the molar section so that there is more room to get that tooth past his bottom teeth and into the correct position in the front. We are really close to being done, and I'm excited that he won't have to wear his retainer anymore. In the meantime it's been harder for him to talk because of the added plastic. Someday I'll add pictures so you can see what is going on with his teeth. I just have a hard time take pictures of the retainer since when it's not in his mouth it usually has food stuck in it.
Violet is becoming more and more mobile. She can get onto one knee and push herself forward. She's also discovered how to push herself up from a prone position to a sitting position which has improved her ability to sit on her own. Unfortunately this new found mobility has her crawling under the table to get the crumbs from under Seth's chair. Most of the time she gets stuck before she can get to the crumbs, she begins to scream from the frustration and I have to drag her out from under the table several times a day.
She did finally get that Fruitloop, but it took several times to realize she needed to go around that chair instead of through it. She has also been very picky with her eating habits. She refuses to eat any jar food and must eat what the bigger people are eating. The other day I made some BBQ chicken for dinner and Chris was trying to feed her some squash but she clenched her mouth shut and refused to open it until he gave her some BBQ sauce. She liked that so much that he added a little to the jar of squash and then she ate the whole jar. It is getting easier to feed her table foods because she had one little tooth break through just a few days ago and I expect a second one to pop out any day now.
Yum! BBQ Sauce and orange squash.

SO fun to see your great progress on the house! I'm impressed! Re-doing the kitchen is SUCH a big project, but it makes SO much difference in a house, so way to go!
You are amazing!!! The kitchen--the move--the box car--and you made it to the temple---AMAZING!!! Also, thanks for the BBQ sauce idea--I'll have to try it.:)
