Thanksgiving and Such

We had a good Thanksgiving this year.  We spent it in Logan with most of the Boyd family.  Dinner was great, and company was good.  Chris went on a hike and came home bruised and muddy, but happy he went.  Violet became very lethargic and fell asleep on the stairs.

Then we went to Salt Lake and spent a day with the Pace family.  Mom and Dad made a great pancake breakfast and the boys spent some time with their cousins.  That night we took advantage of the 60* weather and went to see the lights on Temple Square.  In my family we always picked out a tree that we feel represents our life at the moment.  Since high school I've always picked out one of the really big ones that they don't put lights on.  The first year I did it, my parents got worried about me and dad spent three hours one evening trying to boost my self esteem.  Mostly I pick them because I love what they look like when you look up into them.

Landon picked a little white one.  He said he felt "drawn" to it.  Sam picked a little red one and Seth really liked all the green bushes.  Chris chose a beautiful spot that was surrounded by red trees.  My sister and her husband joined us for the night and we were able to slip into the Assembly Hall to listen to a couple choirs.  It was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed spending some time with Allison and Jordan.

Sunday we drove home.

Since then we've been decorating and preparing for Christmas.  It will be nice to spend a quiet Christmas at home.  The boys are super excited.  I've been finishing our Christmas stockings and deciding on what pattern to use for Callie's.  It won't be done until next year, for sure, but I'm really liking the way they all look together hanging on the wall.  I also spend much of my days being entertained by Violet.  She's becoming a real tease.  She loves to snack and I often find her in our pantry getting her own food.

She's also talking up a storm, and has learned a few real words.  He current favorite is "Hi!"  She likes to get up into Callie's face and talk to her.

Callie likes it too!

This is how our little one is sleeping tonight   :P
