Feeling Run Down?!

That is how I've been feeling lately.

The Monday before New Years Violet came down with a stomach bug.  Since then I don't think we've had one day without someone puking, coughing, sneezing, miserable with a fever, or having some other form of ailment.  2015 has been a bad health year in our home.  We just can't seem to shake it.

We've had some good things happen this past month though.

We celebrated Samuel's 8th birthday.  I'm still running on survival mode so we forgot to do some things to prepare for the big day......like his interview with the Bishop. Luckily my sister-in-law noticed that Sam wasn't on the program and so I was able to fix things with the Second Councilor who was there to see the other little boy in our ward, and if I hadn't noticed I'm sure Chris would have fixed it all.  In the end it all worked out and Samuel was Baptized.

We started into soccer again.  Both Landon and Samuel are playing this season.  It's very different from Moscow soccer.  I spend Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at practices and games are mostly on Saturdays.  I volunteered to help setup and take down the fields.  I wish I had known how intense it would be.  I wouldn't have volunteered.  It takes my entire Saturday and I feel beaten up by the end of the day.  Chris and I have decided that this will be Landon and Samuel's last soccer season.  They have lots of fun, but spending two months watching my boys skip and dance around on the field is not something I really want to pay for.  I would rather invest our money into something that they have a little talent for and can succeed in.

Speaking of Talents:

Landon has been taking piano lessons for the past two months.  He really enjoys playing and I never have to remind him to practice.  His teacher is impressed with his talent and says he may outgrow her teaching abilities before too long.

Sam doesn't want to take piano, he wants to go back to the violin, but there are no teachers in the immediate area.  So I'm waiting on those lessons until I have more time on my hands to hunt down a teacher.

In Other News:

It was Fast Sunday and I admit I have never really enforced fasting with Landon but I couldn't help laughing at him after this conversation.

Me:"Landon.  It's Fast Sunday, and I think, since you're ten, that you should start fasting on Fast Sunday."
Landon:  "Okay.  I'll think about it......right after I have breakfast."

Also - Landon has decided that he wants to work for the water company when he grows up.  I'm not sure where he learned about the water company, or if he knows what that job would entail, but he has said on multiple occasions that he wants to do that when he grows up.

Now I leave you with a few pictures.
