I'm tired!

I'm sure I've said that phrase over a million times in the past week, but it's true. I feel utterly exhausted. I'm sure much of it has to do with the fact that I'm pregnant, but a lot of it has to do with the morning I've just had.

The day started okay. The boys woke up and got dressed without a fight. Sam refused to eat breakfast but Landon ate well and got ready for school in record time. We walked to the bus stop and Landon started acting sad and withdrawn. When the bus pulled up all of the kids got on, except Landon who began to cry and complain that he was tired. I tried to reason with him and then I tried to get him to tell me the real reason he didin't want to get on the bus. I got NOTHING, just tears. So we waved to the bus driver and walked home. Since Landon was "so tired" I sent him to bed. Then Zachariah arrived. (he's almost four, and I'm going to be taking him in at least one week out of every month, while his dad goes to Law school with Chris) I was informed that Zach hadn't gotten much sleep last night and so was acting a little crabby.

A couple hours past and everything went smoothly. Landon stayed in his room "resting" and Sam and Zach played around the house. Zach's dad called and I informed him that all was well and Zach seemed to have perked up. "There haven't been any problems" I told him. Not ten minutes later Sam was crying because "Zach bit me!" Since then there have been several warnings not to jump on or off the couch and no running on the couch, and no throwing cars or hitting with cars, and no hitting eachother with the bat. There have also been several warnings and threats of time-out, and finally Sam and Zach have both had two time-out sessions each. Sam takes his time-outs fairly stoically. Zach's time outs consist of much weeping, wailing and moaning and thus last longer. Admittedly over the last four days of time in our house his time-out sessions have improved, but they still wear me out just listening to them.

Now we are in, what I prefer to call, REST TIME. My favorite time of day. Sam and Zach are both sleeping, and Landon is playing his Wii.

When Chris gets home we'll discuss Landon and his school issues some more, and hopefully soon I will be able to set up a time to visit with Landon's teacher to find out what might be going on at school to cause Landon's anxiety. We might even resort to changing schools......I know most kids start to hate school sometime in grade school (at least I did) but I'd prefer that to happen in the later grades, rather than at the beginning of Kindergarten.

In the meantime please enjoy this picture of Zach, Sam and Landon all playing the Wii together.
