Spring Break in Miami

OR as Sam says it "Mom's Ami!" Landon and Sam had several arguments about the name of the city. Sam seemed to think it was MY Ami instead of Miami. It gave me a good laugh anyway.


Obviously you are all dying to know about our recent adventure to Miami. I've haven't posted about it yet, because I wanted to build the anticipation.....okay not really. I've been attempting to keep our lives running smoothly while Chris spent all of the last week working on his big final paper. He finished Monday morning and we've all been recovering from the long hours he spent locked away in the study room. I spent the last week getting Landon to and from school, attempting to clean the house little by little (for every ten minutes of cleaning I have to sit for fifteen, I just can't seem to get enough oxygen into my lungs with this baby sitting on all my organs!) and trying to keep sam entertained. We've been to a few doctors appointments, and spent several hours in the Hospital lobby waiting for blood tests. It's been a fun week! But to get on with the good stuff.....

Dan, Terri and Tasha decided they missed us enough to provide plane tickets to visit them in their new home of Miami Beach, Florida. Unfortunately Dan was working in Europe for the week, so we were unable to see him. We really missed him and hope he is happy in his work and travels!
The tempurature was in the 70's all week, so no coats were needed, and we did our best to soak up all the vitamin D we could handle. Landon LOVED playing in the waves, which is the opposite of what he did at our last beach trip. Last time he refused to get anything but his feet wet. This time it was hard to get him to wait for an adult to take him into the water. Several times Chris had to run after him and catch him before he went too far out in the water.




















Sam decided he didn't like the waves and so tried digging in the the sand only to discover he REALLY didn't like having sand in his pants.

After that he refused to get in the water and only wanted to bury his feet in the sand. Though, on our third trip to the beach, grandma took us to a place where the waves were much smaller and Sam had so much fun playing with Dad and grandma in the water that he fell asleep on the drive home.

In addition to playing on the beach everyday, the boys had a lot of fun playing with Aunt Tasha,

riding the flat escalators at the grocery store, (just like Italy!)

feeding the fish at the local pier,

and exploring local bookstores.



On our last day, Terri took us to the Everglades where we rode in a air boat to explore the swamps and see some of the wildlife that Florida has to offer.






We had so much fun!!! Chris had to work twice as hard this past week to make up for the lost study time, but I'm positive we'd do it all over again.

In other news:
My sister, Nicole, begged me for a prego picture just so she can see how big I'm getting. This is the picture I feel most comfortable showing. Keep in mind I'm wearing one of my smaller shirts in order to emphasize the actual size of my belly. Since this picture was taken, I've grown at least another inch in diameter and I'm no longer allowing myself to wear anything but my "tent" shirts.
