Why Idahoans are tougher than Virginians

A few years ago we moved to Sterling Virginia. For Chris, there was just one thing that Virginia needed more of. SNOW!! He LOVES snow!!! Our first winter in Virginia we got a little snow, and to our surprise they closed schools for it. I was a little shocked. You could still see the grass through the snow and the roads were completely clear. I believe I even blogged about it. Our second winter in Virginia, the skies opened and the snow dumped on us. Chris was mostly in heaven(I think he would have like it more if it came the week after his LSAT) It snowed for a couple of days, power lines were down, roads were dangerous, EVERYTHING shut down!! Schools were closed for two weeks!

This winter we live in Idaho. There was a lot of snow at the begining of winter (thanksgiving break) and through January we got mostly rain. February was just bitterly cold, until about a week and a half ago. It started snowing on and off. This morning I woke up to seeing this beautiful white wonderland outside my bedroom window.

I checked the schools and (this one is for you VA friends!) NO SCHOOL CLOSURES!!!!!

Admittedly, I haven't been out in it yet. Landon has had a fever since last Thursday and seems to be trying to cough up a lung. I was actually hoping for school closures, because I don't want him missing so much school, but then again......it's just Kindergarten!

In all actuality I'm really sick of the cold and the snow. I really just want Spring to be here. Spring break is coming in a couple of weeks and I just want it to be warm around here. Wait.....I'll be sun bathing on the beaches of Miami that week!! Until then, I'll just have to think sunny thoughts. (No, I'm not telling my doctors that I'm flying to Miami just before my third trimester starts. They'd just freak out and give me more tests to pay for.)
