Spring Soccer

Landon and Samuel played soccer again this season.   Once I convinced Landon that screaming and grabbing were against the rules and when he got kicked or hit with the ball is was probably an accident, things went more smoothly for him.  He even improved his game a little, I think.  His last game was cancelled due to rain, so I didn't get any pictures of him playing this time around.  I was a little disappointed about it, but I was happy we didn't have to sit through the downpour.

You can't see the rain, but after just five minutes we were both drenched.

Sam really improved this season.  He had a great coach who worked with the kids before every game, and Sam actually tried to kick the ball instead of running around it, most of the time.  His game was dry and warm and Chris came along to watch and take pictures for me.  I spent the game chasing Seth, but it was nice that Chris was able to get away from studying and watch Sam play.

Thus ends our soccer playing days here in Moscow.

Chris was able to get away for a few days with some friends, and go rafting down Hells Canyon.  They caught a lot of fish along the way and even saw a huge bear.    He also had a first and second job interview with the prosecutors office in Canyon County ID.  It's the second largest office in the state and  Chris really liked the lawyers he met during his interviews.  He came home from the first one thinking he bombed all the questions, so when they called him for a second interview we were ecstatic and he really worked hard to prepare the opening statement that they required for the interview.  Because of his rafting trip, we had to wait a whole week to find out how much they liked him.  He was the first to be hired into the four open positions. The job starts at the beginning of June, and he will basically be paid to work a little and study for the BAR examination.

Tomorrow we are going to drive down to try to find somewhere to live.  The rental market is stiff and most of the places Chris has found online get snatched up really fast, so we are really praying hard to find somewhere that will meet all our needs.  We have a week to pack everything and get it all down to Boise, but since we usually spend two-three days packing for a move, this seems cushy.  I would hope that after 15 moves we know how to pack.

It's going to be a busy two weeks, but we're excited to be moving on to a new adventure.
