Another Violet Post

I finally got around to taking Violet to her two-month appointment today.  She now weighs 13 pounds so she seems to be bulking up quickly just like Sam did.   I think the big difference is her head circumference.  Sam's head was always in the 90th percentile - so it was HUGE.  Violet, on the other hand, has a smaller than average head size.  The doctor was a little concerned about her neck.  She has a tendency to tilt her head to the left a lot.  It's becoming noticeable in the shape of her ears and the flat spot on the back of her head.   So I have to try to force her to look to the right more often to help stretch those muscles and tendons.

She is adorable, Laura! How are the big brothers loving having a sister?

Rebecca had "Torticollis". I think the exercises that helped the most were to stretch her neck ---ear to shoulder---a lot to relax the muscle. PT had us move her car seat so it faced the other kids and would force her to turn to look at them more. I'll see if I can find some helps online for you. It took a few months, but she got better fast.

Hope this link works. These are the stretches and carrying positions we used to help Rebecca. Hope they help.

OK--that link didn't work---just google "toticollis stretches".
Love you!
